Our School Garden π©βπΎπ¨βπΎ
We welcomed Caroline from Biodiversity in Schools Ireland to our school. She began by meeting with the senior members of our Creative Schools and Health and Wellbeing Committees to briefly discuss the importance of biodiversity in our gardens. The children then took Caroline on a tour of our yard area and garden space. Afterwards, they returned to the classroom. Each child was given a sticky note to write down their favourite garden idea. This helped to identify any common themes. To inspire further ideas, Caroline showed some slides of other school gardens. All children then created a garden design. Caroline also visited juniors to 3rd class to get their ideas and input.
Caroline will now collate all the ideas to create a design for our school garden that we can work from going forward.
