Welcome

St. Teresa's National School is a 5-teacher school, located at Kingsfort, in the village of Ballintogher, Co. Sligo, approximately 8 kilometres southeast of Sligo town. It is a very picturesque setting. Ballintogher  - The Town of the Causeway, is situated near Lough Gill and the Lake Isle of Innisfree, made famous by W. B. Yeats.

Ballintogher National School is situated on the R290 road between Ballygawley to the west and Dromahair in Co. Leitrim to the north east. Once you enter the 50km/hr speed limit the school is on the right (as you travel north) beside the church of St. Therese. The parish is Killenummery and Killery in the diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise.

The current school building, having recently been extended and refurbished, was officially opened on Friday, 25th October 2024. The original school building, built in 1969 and opened in 1970, replaced two schools in the parish – Ballintogher N.S. which was erected in 1840 and Crossboy School which was erected in the 1870s.

The school has four classrooms – three mainstream classrooms and a Special Educational Needs classroom. There is a staff room, an office, storerooms, and a library in a prefabricated building to the rear of the school.  There is a lovely new basketball court and an extended yard area to the rear of the school building.
